Equifax, one of the three major credit bureaus, has acknowledged a breach of their data. As a credit bureau they stored information that, in the wrong hands, can be used for identity theft: Names, addresses, social security numbers, account numbers, and more.
Am I safe?
The current data says as many as one third of Americans have had their data compromised. If you have concerns regarding protecting your account at the credit union, we offer members the option of adding a password to their account. The password will be used to verify identity any time you or anyone on the account interacts with the credit union, by phone or in person.
