Ginger Carter, Chief Operations Officer and Vice President of Branch Operations at Bowater Credit Union, recently attained the honor of graduating from Southeast CUNA Management School.

Since the school’s opening class in 1970, the school has graduated over 1,100 credit union management professionals from 21 states and the District of Columbia. The school, which takes place over a three-year period at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia, provides a well-rounded curriculum and experiential opportunities for professional and personal growth, challenging each participant to reach their highest potential by engaging them in learning activities that stimulate critical thinking and increase confidence.

Carter began at Bowater Credit Union in 1999 as an experienced teller. She has been a Loan Officer since 2005, became Athens Branch Manager in 2008, and most recently was promoted to Chief Operations Officer in 2017.

She always aspires to improve herself and the Credit Union.  Carter has completed extensive training, which in addition to graduating from Southeast CUNA Management School, has led to certification as an IRA Specialist and a Credit Union Compliance Expert.

A local to McMinn County, Carter graduated from McMinn County High School and completed her bachelor’s degree in Business Management at Tennessee Wesleyan University.

In addition to her career achievements, she will tell you that her greatest accomplishment is being a mother to Cassi and Caylee.

Bowater Credit Union CEO Denley Hines said, “We are proud of Ginger’s many accomplishments, including her graduation from this extensive three-year management program.  Her skills are truly an asset to Bowater Credit Union; she is one of the up-and-coming leaders for Bowater Credit Union and the credit union movement.
