After nearly eighteen years of service to members and coworkers, Gayle Davis is retiring from Bowater Credit Union on January 4, 2021. Gayle has benefited the credit union in multiple roles during her time at the credit union. Many members will know her from her days as a teller and head teller at our Calhoun Branch. Most recently she has worked in our Cards Department as Card Services Coordinator.

When asked what she liked best about her job, Gayle said “I enjoyed educating our members on how cards work so they could use them with little or no issues.” As you can see Gayle lived well in our mission of educating members to make better financial decisions. She also enjoyed “helping them right the wrong when they had their accounts compromised by fraud.”

Gayle’s unique wit and sense of humour will be missed by all at the credit union. Gayle was always happy to help her team members; “We shared laughs together, but she served as an inspiration to me each day,” said one fellow employee.

For her retirement, Gayle looks forward to spending time with family and friends, going camping, and reading as late as she wants because there’s no more alarm clock to set.

“I cherish the friendships I have made with my fellow employees,” said Gayle. “And I have fond memories of the members who I have waited on for the last almost 18 years.”

Congratulations, Gayle! Your hard work and sense of humour will be missed each day.
