Bowater Credit Union is proud to announce Samuel Fant of Cleveland, Tennessee, as the recipient of this year’s $2,000 Annual College Scholarship. Samuel was selected from a competitive pool of applicants, evaluated on academic achievement, involvement in school and civic activities, and a compelling essay on the role credit unions play in empowering young adults.
In his scholarship essay, Samuel emphasized the importance of credit unions in fostering financial literacy among youth. “Credit unions provide young adults with the tools they need to start their journey into financially responsible adults,” he wrote. He also reflected on his personal experiences growing up as a Bowater Credit Union member, crediting the credit union’s youth incentives with helping him build strong financial habits early on.
“Supporting students like Samuel is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do,” said Nicole Andrino, Marketing Specialist at Bowater Credit Union. “We are proud to invest in the next generation and to help ease some of the financial burden.”
Samuel has shown impressive dedication and determination over his academic years. We have no doubts that he will succeed in life! Bowater Credit Union congratulates him and looks forward to seeing all that he will accomplish in the future.
