Wire Transfer Information

Our wire cut off time is 3pm. If you submit a wire request after 3pm the funds will be processed the next business day.

How to send a domestic wire

Fee: $20

To send a domestic wire transfer from your Bowater Credit Union savings or checking account, you will need to gather the following information before calling:

  • Sender’s (Your) Information
    • Your name
    • Your Bowater Credit Union account number to debit
    • Wire transfer amount in U.S. dollars
  • Receiver’s Information
    • ABA/Transit Routing number of receiving bank
      • Please note: ABA numbers obtained from checks or deposit slips may not be valid for processing wire transfers. Please contact the receiving bank to get the appropriate incoming wiring instructions.
    • Name of bank receiving the wire transfer
    • Address of bank receiving the wire transfer
  • Beneficiary information (the person/business receiving the funds)
    • Bank account number
    • Name on the account
    • Address on the account

If applicable, include comments or special instructions to transmit with the outgoing wire. For example: receipt notification instructions, “to the attention of” instructions, or identification numbers such as invoice, purchase order or reference numbers.

Important Information

  • Outgoing wire transfer requests received by 2:30 p.m. ET, Monday to Friday, will be processed the same day.
  • Allow one business day for domestic wire transfers to post. More than one business day may be required if all necessary information isn’t provided.

 

When all of the above information has been gathered, please call us at 423.336.7268 to send your domestic wire transfer.

How to receive a domestic wire transfer

To receive a domestic incoming wire transfer to your Bowater Credit Union savings, checking, or loan account, please provide the sending bank with the following information in order to ensure the money is received by Bowater CU:

  • Receiving Financial Institution
    • Bowater Employees Credit Union
      5123 Highway 11 S
      Calhoun TN 37309
    • Routing number 264278461
  • Beneficiary
    • Your Bowater CU account number to credit
    • Name and address on the account
    • Reference field
    • Any other information Bowater CU needs to know to properly credit your wire transfer.

Important Information:

  • Allow one business day for domestic wire transfers to post. More than one business day may be required if all necessary information isn’t provided.
  • Incoming wire transfers designated as “Pay Upon Proper ID” can’t be accepted.

Foreign Wire Transfers (incoming or outgoing)

Bowater Credit Union does not send or accept wire transfers directly to or from foreign financial institutions.  However, many foreign financial institutions have a correspondent bank in the U.S. that we are able to send or accept wire transfers to or from. Please contact the foreign institution to see if they have a correspondent bank in the U.S.
